We are an independent club of around 200 local people who share a common interest in walking for pleasure in the Sussex countryside.

We usually have an all-day circular walk, typically of 9 - 11 miles, every Sunday all year round and shorter half day walks on most summer Saturdays and some winter Saturdays.

Historic Houses walking week: 9th - 17th July 2016

Bateman’s which we see on Monday 11th July
Looking for some interesting walks in and around Sussex during mid-July? Then look no further as we are offering a week of walks themed around historic houses which range from Uppark in the west, to Bateman’s in the east and Lloyd Park House in London. Hopefully, something for everyone. The houses are shown down the left side of this page in the order that we will see them. How many can you recognise? Hover over them to see if you are right.

All the walks start at 10:30am, with the exception of the London walk which starts a little later to give you time to get there. Their routes provide views of a selection of fine country houses, many of which are managed by the National Trust and can be visited after their respective walks. The exception, once again, is the London walk where the visit is an integral part of the walk.

You are welcome to join us on all or any of the walks during our walking week. Equally, why not come along to one of our regular Saturday and Sunday walks throughout the rest of the year. There's no need to arrange anything in advance and absolutely nothing to pay, just turn up on the day and enjoy the walk (if it's an all-day walk be sure to bring some lunch and a drink). You can find full details of all our forthcoming walks through to the end of December, including the Historic Houses walks on our walks page.

If you enjoy walking with us and would like to join our Club — for an annual membership subscription of £8 (see full subscription details), then you can call us on 07842 792962 or contact us from this website.
